She went on to learn the disciplines of classical music from Ustad Rabiul Hossain and Pandit Amaresh Roy Chowdhury at Rajshahi. Later, her prowess in Rabindra Sangeet flourished under the worthy guidance of Prof Ghulam Murshid, Waheedul Haque and Sanjida Khatun. She received the Rabindra Sangeet Sammilan Parishad awards, in the eighties. In 2007, she received the City Cell-Channel-i award. Lisa is the head of the Rabindra Sangeet department at Chhayanaut Sangeet Bidyayatan, Dhaka, and is affiliated with the Jatiya Rabindra Sangeet Sammilan Parishad. She has toured in Bangladesh and abroad and has released several albums until date. Lisa holds a Ph.D, and is currently Professor and Chair of the department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology at Jagannath University, Dhaka.
