In my personal opinion, Breithorn and Allalinhorn are NOT the best beginner 4k peaks in the Alps Mountaineering is a challenging activity, and the beauty lies in that challenge. If you're an aspiring Alpinist, I don't think your first high-altitude endeavour should be on a peak that's, well... catered for the masses. The Saas Fee lift goes all the way to the Mittel Allalin station, at 3457m. And the Klein Matterhorn cable car, all the way to 3,883m...Both a bit of a cop-out. The trek from Zinal to Cabane de Tracuit is difficult, beautiful and most of all, remote. This makes the ascent of Bishorn something to be proud of. Both of the days leading to Bishorn's summit were pretty long, but the views were absolutely worth it.
