Short video featuring Erie Lackawanna F7 A-B units hauling coal and ore. The outer oval has Bachmann units hauling 40 ore "Jennies" and a bay window caboose. The inner oval has Kato units hauling 25 coal hoppers and a bay window caboose. Some of the hoppers came with no loads so I filled them with a dark gray ash colored ballast. Diluted rubbing alcohol was then dropped on the ballast to allow diluted Elmer's Glue to soak through the ballast and hold it in place. When dried I dabbed some "black soot" weathering powder on top of the loads to make them look like dirty coal. I also dabbed some weathering powder on the coal loads that came with other hoppers. They had a plastic shine and some of the coal loads were dark gray. The "black soot" made all of the hoppers look like they were carrying black coal. The video shows the trains in three areas of the layout. They are first seen going by the crossing at Arlee Station. The trains are then seen emerging from the wooded area near the barrel factory spur. This particular area recently had a "landscaping upheaval". A group of trees by the outer oval were displaced by a small hill. The trees were relocated in the wooded area in between the barrel factory and the residential neighborhood. After that they are seen going though the curved tracks in between the feed mill spur and the interchange track.
