Paramedics attend to a mother of two with sepsis. Sepsis, also known as blood poisoning, can be fatal and so paramedics are eager to rush her to urgent care. Elsewhere, a man is excessively bleeding from his arm. To stop the bleeding paramedics apply a pressure bandage but as that reduces blood flow they need to get him to hospital. For the very first time, an ambulance has been rigged with cameras that provide a unique perspective on what it's like to respond to emergency calls. 'Inside The Ambulance' follows paramedics from the West Midlands Ambulance Service in England as they take us right into the heart of the action. We see heroism at work in the actions of these first responders. We also enter the lives of people in crisis and learn their unique stories.
