Literary Device Rap (4 of 21) Rap Song #88 Allusion

ELA/Grammar/Literary/Writing Rap Song Artist Aloha, my name is Donna Fisher. I am a veteran English teacher who has taught grades 6th-12th for almost two decades. I have six years teaching experience with grades 7-12 where I taught using an Abeka (rigorous) curriculum in a private school, and over a decade teaching middle school in public schools. Therefore, I have extensive experience creating and using these raps to teach my students complex English Language Arts concepts with ease. I have a passion for creating educational music, and I have created over 200 ELA Rap songs, and I want to share them with you! I am adding the Lyrics below so that you have access to them. Please enjoy, like, and subscribe to my channel, thank you! 88 Reading CD-3/8 Literary Devices 🎵Allusion By Mrs. Donna Fisher Copyright © 2009, all rights reserved Okay, students, this is our D-Day. Today we have an opportunity to make history, okay? We can score higher on our state assessment than any school! What do you say? We have worked hard! We memorized our raps and we will lead the way. It will prove the validity Of putting words to music, to improve your memory. It is “one small step for man, but one giant leap for mankind.” Each time you answer a question think back to one of our rhymes. Allusion refers to something outside the work, Like a character, story, or event from another book. Allusion is a reference To people, places, works or events In which the author expects An emotional reaction from the audience. Like in a book that’s science fiction There’s a reckless boy. To the boy the father says, with a grin, “I’m glad you don’t know Any Huckleberry Finn’s.” Allusion is a reference To people, places, works or events In which the author expects An emotional reaction from his audience. The opening speech made two allusions as the speaker referred to D-Day and the first steps on the moon. Good luck on your assessments. I know you’re taking them soon!
