The tragedy occurred on Sunday evening when Tito, who had been driving from New Mexico to Oklahoma, experienced medical distress on the road. Steve Manning, a longtime family friend and former manager of the Jackson family, confirmed the devastating news. According to Manning, Tito Jackson suffered a heart attack while on the road, which led to his passing. The New Mexico Office of the Medical Investigator is currently responsible for overseeing Jackson’s remains, with an autopsy pending to officially determine the cause of death. The autopsy will be conducted once Jackson’s body is transported to Albuquerque, where the medical examiner will perform the examination. Chris Ramirez, a spokesperson for the medical examiner’s office, provided these details following the tragedy. Local authorities in Gallup, New Mexico, where the incident occurred, responded to the scene after a passerby flagged down police officers near the American Heritage Plaza shopping center. At around 6:17 p.m., Gallup Police received the report of a man requiring medical assistance. Upon arriving at the scene, they identified the man as Tito Jackson, who was immediately transported to a nearby hospital in Gallup.
