The Pregnancy Center, which provides prenatal care to expectant mothers in our community who are underserved or are in a low-income bracket, formed a partnership with the Community Health Alliance to provide dental care to pregnant moms and also help their unborn babies. "What we feel is important about helping our pregnant moms is that oral health decay is very prevalent. By helping the mothers reduce their oral decay, we can help reduce the transference of that bacteria to their unborn children'" says Community Health Alliance Dental Outreach Manager Debra Koester. The Alliance's mobile dental clinic comes to The Pregnancy Center's parking lot at 975 Ryland Street Tuesday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The dental clinic is open to all pregnant women who set up an appointment through the Center. Dental clinic staff will help with the paperwork for Medicaid coverage or will consider a sliding-scale fee based on income.
