Simpson, 25, and McKeon, 27, who live and train together on the Gold Coast, have shared details of their relationship for the first time - including that their romance took more than a year to get off the ground. In an exclusive interview for 7NEWS Spotlight, just days out from the 2022 Commonwealth Games, Simpson revealed it was a year before he told McKeon he was keen on her. Despite training together six days a week, there is still room for romance, with McKeon saying that Aussie sport’s power couple “make it happen”.
