Ten-year-old Celyn from Llanelli was a Global Goalkeeper at her primary school and a driving force behind several community initiatives. During the pandemic, she started "Callie's Free Plants," planting and giving away sunflowers from her garden wall. This initiative expanded to include pumpkins, tomatoes, and more. Inspired by a TV concept, Celyn broadened her efforts to promote reading. With her dad’s help, she built "The Little Sunflower Library," offering free books and encouraging donations. Passionate about fundraising, Celyn completed a 2.6-mile walk in 2020, distributing sunflowers along the way to raise money for the Welsh Air Ambulance. She also bakes shortbread to support local food banks. Dedicated to environmental causes, Celyn regularly participates in beach clean-ups regardless of the weather. Despite setbacks from vandalism, Callie’s Free Plants and The Little Sunflower Library are now in their fifth season and continue to thrive. Celyn’s determination and passion for helping her community and the environment make her a remarkable young champion.
