Rochelle, IL is located 80+ miles west of Chicago and is the point where BNSF's Aurora Sub crosses UP's Geneva Sub on a double tracked diamond. It's also the location of the first ever railfan park built for train watching. We spent a beautiful spring day at the park documenting the action, most of which is from Union Pacific. Lots of older power is seen, including older GEs and SD70Ms on UP and a few warbonnets and 'Heritage 1' on BNSF. Traffic is mostly coal and intermodal, with some manifest and autorack trains as well.
