Dynamic mic shootout for trombones

For online lessons or other requests contact me at: [email protected] Please listen with good headphones or a good pair of speakers!! This video shows the difference between shure sm7b and shure sm57. Both are classic dynamic microphones, also known as moving- coil microphones. shure sm57: https://www.thomann.de/at/shure_sm57_... shure sm7b: https://www.thomann.de/at/shure_sm_7b... you can see the difference between the prices, the shure sm57 is about 100€, the sm7b about 400€. I think there's no big difference in the sound, you can decide by yourself if you want to pay 4 times more :-) No effects in the signal chain, just the mics, cables (Sommercable carbokab 225), interface (Apollo X8) and the DAW (Logic Pro X). No Unison preamp Plugins were used! Instead of the Bricasti M7 Brass Hall preset, we didn't use any other plugins/effects in the DAW. If you are interested in the sound of some unison plugins, please let me know! Mic position was off axis, about 60 - 70 centimeters away from the instruments, pointed to the edge of the bell. Unfortunately the room is a bit boomy around 200 Hz. A friend of mine recorded this video in his homestudio, please check out his channel as well:    / @quetschinger5908   I use edwards and Voigt instruments: contrabasstrombone: Voigt, Lätzsch mouthpiece basstrombone: B 454 DE, Greg Black mouthpiece tenortrombone: T 350, Greg Black mouthpiece you can find me on facebook:   / bernhard.plos   and instagram:   / berni.plos
