S6 Ep 7 Muros to Chaves motorhome Portugal

This week we leave the ‘heavenly dolphin’ site camping A Vouga near to Mutos and head inland to miss the approaching storm. We stayed at a free aire- free water, showers, and electric - close your Pinor. This aire is really tucked away in what appears to be in the middle of nowhere. Also the walking trails were both difficult to follow and difficult to hike, but we made the most of the weather and the dogs loved their walk. From here, as the storm was still apparent on the coast we headed across the Spanish border into Portugal. Things didn’t go smoothly as I navigated Dave the wrong way onto toll roads. An expensive mistake. Our chosen overnight at a tavern was not to be as the owners were away on holiday that week. Plan b came into action and we backtracked into Chaves and stayed on the site (basically somebody’s garden). We set off to explore Chaves trying to miss the rain. Had a lovely walk along the river and passed the stepping stones, as the Roman bridge and walked up to the castle. Hope you enjoy this weeks motorhoming from Spain into Portugal
