A Romantic Night Out With A Sheep Farmer!

Come join us for a night out with a sheep farmer! Nothing is more romantic to a farmer than a night out in the fields with his tractor, dogs, and the realization that the season's field work is coming to an end. As summer comes to a close, farmers are hard at work trying to get the last of this year's hay in before the frost. We are still using fans in the breeding groups because it certainly doesn't feel like fall, but it is just around the corner! So it's working well into the night wrapping and stacking the third-cut alfalfa hay. We are running out of barnyard space, so we've moved to a new location where Arnie set out the freshly baled hay for wrapping. The border collies had fun jumping on the bales as the sun was setting over the sheep pastures. Before dealing with the hay, night chores in the sheep barns were completed first with the sheep very pleased with the new hay. As we walked through the sheep feeders, we still were pondering over which rams to use in the next breeding groups.
