In this video, we have suggested the production guidelines for small farmers of 1-5 acres who plant just 1-2 acres of wheat or so. Small farmers are often poor and can not spend more money for wheat production. We have suggested that after adding 50 kg of DAP or MAP in well prepared soil, they should plant graded seed from their own wheat variety Akbar, during 5-10 November through uniform broadcast. Wheat crop is likely to become more precious than Raya / Canola during next few months. It is therefore suggested that, more and more under wheat should be planted to conserve the national interests. Sindh government has announced the support price of wheat by Rs. 4000 hundred per 40 kg to encourage the flood affected farmers of Sindh province. This is fairly encouraging price announced well in time. Pakistan has imported limited amount of wheat by Rs. 9000 pr 40 kg. Keeping this thing in view, it is suggested that government. Due to war between Russia and Ukraine, there are chances of increase in the prices of wheat crop this year. The reason is that these two countries are the major exporters of wheat crop all over the world. Russia accounts for up to 18% of total wheat exports of the globe. Whereas, Ukraine accounts for up to 8% of the total wheat exports. Due to uncertain conditions, there are clear signs of hike in wheat prices soon. More than a dozen varieties of wheat crop had been cultivated in the different parts of Punjab. Central Pujnab comprising Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Okara and parts of Jang and Chiniot is the major bread basket of the country. We have highlighted about the performance of wheat varieties during the year 2022. According to our information, Akbar 2019 has performed better in the region of central Punjab. Fakhr e Bhakker and Bhakker Star both have performed better in Layya, Bhakker, irrigated Thal area and parts of South Punjab. Inspite of partial lodging, most of the wheat varieties have performed better than previous years. Faisalabad 2008 was cultivated in large scale and performed better than previous year. Out of the most recent varieties like Dikash 2021, Subhani 2021 and MH-2021, which were not sown on the large scale, all performed equally good.
