Lesley=L;Rick=R Laura&Luke are still away. L. comes to a short visit to R. When she stands on his door she is not sure if she can handle it not to tell R. the whole news which she has get from Joe&the police about Laura, Luke, Frank Smith.But she decides that she must handle it alone. She knocks, R. begs her to come in and asks her about the article in the newspaper about Laura & that Luke has should kidnaped her. He wants to know if it's true& if Laura is in any kind of dangerous about he doesn't know .L. eludes. R. tells her that he finds it terrible to see the photo of their daughter at the front page from the newspaper. R. is surprised that L. is so relaxed about this. She tells him that it is only exterior, that she doesn't believe the article. She thinks that it is only an attempt from the police to find them faster. R. asks her if she conceals something for him, L. answers him that she is surprised how he can say that. R. tells her that he coincidentally knows her very well and asks her if the police has tell her something what he should know. It knocks. L. is grateful for the interrupting&asks R. if he doesn't finds that he should open the door. It's Mike, he wants to say good-bye to R.Mike explains L. that he is like a son for R. L. says that the the two have search&found eachother. Mike tells her that they understand very well &Rick completes that they could been father&son.He begs Mike to enumerate the tasks which he gave him. Mike mentions to water his flowers, to feed Corky(Mike's dog) very well so that he can work for R. when he comes back & to represented R.by the breakfest in Kelly's diner so that Rose&Paddy are not to much alone. R. reminds him that breakfest is the most important thing from his tasks. Mike wants to know from R. if he will come back, if, he writes a letter to him and if he doesn't forget him, R. promises him that he comes back, write him and that he will not forget him because he is his family. He hugs him, calls him son and says good-bye to him. Lesley is touched from the scene.When R. comes from the door, she stands on the kitchen unit, cries that it could had been so different at all when she only could had give him a son . She asks him what's happened with Monica and if she(Monica) has hurt him very much. R. tells that she had done this but that he doesn't want to talk about this now. L. understand this. R. asks her again if the police has told her something what she keeps secret. She doesn't answers him. R. tells L. that there was a time when he knows her so well so that he knows what she wants to say before she has spoken it out.L. aks him if he doesn't find too that they have changed both, R. answers her that she has changed.L. says that she hopes that she has changed for her advantage&confesses him that it was hard to live alone at the beginning& that she was embittered. But now she is not more&sometimes she finds good to live alone. R. confesses her that he is happy &feels reassured how she feels and sees the things now. R. doesn't want believe the article in the newspaper but tells her that he is in big concern about Laura. L. tells him that he must not be that. R. asks her again if she conceals something for him. L. answers him that when it give things which he must know, she would tell him of course. R. finds that this is a peculiar answer and offers her to cancel his trip to NY. L. answers that he doesn't do that nohow.She finds the stucture from his own clinic is important for him.R. says that she is right but that Laura is also important for him because at least she is his daughter too and she will be this for him forever. L. anwers him that she knows that but that Laura is more her and perhaps Scooties problem now. R. tells her that there is a thing which she tries to keep as a secret for him. L. doesn't understand how he comes to this idea.When he threats her with fatherly,lovely voice"Lesley.." she interrupts his beginning set and tells him that she tries to handle the things with Laura alone so that his head is free to arrange his own matters. She promises him to call him in NY in an emergency. R. agrees.She reminds him that he must hurry up when he doesn't miss his flight&offers him to drives him to the airport. R. thanks her but says that he will call a cab because it is at the other end of the town and she will still have a stressful day at the hospital. While he calls, she brings the tableware to the kitchen unit. After his call, R. tells L. that she really had not do this but he thanks her. L. answers him that it is probably a old habit from her. R. apologizes by L. that he has interrupt her when she was crying&as she wants to speak about Monica. L. answers him that she knows how he feels. He confesses her, that he is to old for tears but that it hurts him to much so he cannot smile.L. didn't answers him. She begs him to be careful on his trip. R. promises her that and tells her the she shall be careful too. L. leaves the room.
