Marvin Gaye - What's Going On (Live At Montreux1980)

Marvin Gaye is an American legend. He was signed to the fledgling Motown label in 1961 by label founder Berry Gordy and later that year he married Gordy's sister. He scored a total of 39 US Top 40 singles for the label including such classics as "Let's Get It On", "Ain't That Peculiar", "Inner City Blues", "Ain't No Mountain High Enough", "What's Going On" and of course "I Heard It Through The Grapevine", all of which are included on this DVD. Marvin Gaye died in 1984, shot by his father following an argument, and was inducted into the Rock 'n' Roll Hall Of Fame in 1987. With a running time of around 100 minutes, this DVD captures Marvin Gaye at the very height of his powers and combines outstanding music with a scintillating live performance. 1980 RTS / Montreux Sounds RTS: http://rtspro.ch Montreux Sounds: https://www.montreuxsounds.com Mercury Studios:    / montreuxlive   LIVE AT MONTREUX – MONTREUX JAZZ ARCHIVES This performance is part of the unique Claude Nobs Foundation audio-visual collection, included since 2013 in the UNESCO Memory of the World Register.
