Pros and Cons of Living in Buford Georgia In this video, I am going to share with you 5 pros and cons of living in Buford, Georgia. Buford provides a hometown feel amid the metro Atlanta sprawl. As of the 2020 census, the population of Buford is 17,144, which put it just slightly larger than the average size of 16,700 for cities in Gwinnett county. Buford is on the move and grew a whopping 40.2% in the 10 years between the 2010 and 2020 census. Tucked into the northernmost corner of Gwinnett County, Buford’s nearest (and only) Gwinnett County neighborhood is Sugar Hill, located just to the west of Buford. Here’s a quick fun geography fact for you: Buford also encircles the very tiny town (population 45) of Resthaven. There have been attempts to have Resthaven join Buford, but so far nothing has come to fruition. Buford’s 18.22 square miles would make it the largest city by area in Gwinnett County were it not for one glaring fact: part of Buford lies in neighboring Hall County.
