Chitradurga Fort a quick tour with guide | Glory of Indian History

I have tried sharing my experience of recent visit to Chitradurga a rocky fort through this video. Chitradurga is a fortification, which means a military construction, Building designed for the defense. The fort name chitradurga or chitrakaladurga means picture squre fort. This was built in stages 11th and 13th century by different rulers including Chalukya and Hoysalas. The Nayakaya's or palegaras were responsible for the expansion of the fort between 15th and 18th century. The fort was taken over by Hyder Ali in 1779 and then British force took over defiting Tippu sultan in a war. The fort is well known for the architecture, temples and walls built around the mountains. This fort also has passages, a small city, Temples, masjids, Warehouses for grains and oil, water reservoirs etc. The great epitome of Kannada pride "Onake Obavva" lived here who fought against Hyder ali's soldiers single handedly.
