Black Moor Goldfish Care (Tank Setup)

The Aquarium Black Moor Goldfish Tank Care topic is always talked about. Check out my guide on these fish. Tank Mates, size of aquarium, growth, sickness, and more. Make sure to feed high quality food. I’d use NLS goldfish formula. More talk on fish tanks: I'm trying to see what I can find on Craigslist or marketplace. So far I found a a bunch of 55 gal and a 50g. One 55 comes with a sump (and a stand we don't need) for $80, another is super cheap ($20). The 50 only comes with tank and lights for $50. I can keep looking. We have some time. We just have a baby right now, but I don't want to have to keep upgrading tanks. I kind of want to make my son pay for the tank, as he thrust the fish on us unexpectedly, but he's 8 and only has $35. That’s ok. That’s a 40 breeder. It has a better surface are for oxygen exchange than a 55 . I just checked what’s available near me and just the tank on.y is listed for $70. The 75 gallon version is 48” by18” for comparison. Petco has the dollar per gallon sale going on right now but anything over 29 gallons is 50% off. The tank you showed me looks clean and worth the $. http://blackmoorgoldfish.org/goldfish... I bought this tank last summer to use for saltwater. It’s a 75 gallon bow front plus sump. I think by now enough time has passed and it’s still sitting here that’s it’s pretty safe to say I’m probably never going to get around to setting up a reef tank. Black Moor Goldfish Tank Mates    • Black Moor Goldfish Tank Mates   Thanks for the input, everyone! I still think it would be really cool to have a reef tank and definitely something I want to do eventually but for now I think I just want more cute little goldy faces and it would be a lot cheaper/easier. The cost of setting up a saltwater tank was the biggest factor holding me back. Yep bare bottom and sand is best really. It sucks because gravel comes in so many colors!! But yeah I've had a few fish get gravel stuck in their throats. It scares you to death when it happens. You can also do those big glass gems. They're round and big enough for most goldfish to not swallow down. Sorry and I know it is off topic. the little telescope fish that is drifting in the bottom left corner, isn't acting right and looks like it is clamping up... sorry again for going off topic... I would recommend looking at a less intense water outlet, that flow looks a little fast for fancies and may be creating too strong a current for them, meaning they have to be constantly on the move and never resting. Anyway to stop the algae growing on the liner and pipes etc. There is loads, the water is crystal clear though from the UV steriliser. Unless this is normal I want it gone, haven't fed them all winter but they are feeding off the Algae too, I have also noticed wads of Algae carpeting the plants which I have removed. It truly is normal and is a sign of a healthy ecosystem. Algae does provide nutrients for your goldies that regular foods cannot, and also is a food for other small critters your goldies eat that provide proteins. I would still remove it from the plants as it can block the sun to the plants, but otherwise personally i love algae. It is outside, I have maybe put some pellets in once a month, I notice they are still producing waste and lots of it so they must be eating something, probably the Algae and plants! Alright my daughter and I are new to fish and we got a 5 gallon tank set it up put in water conditioner and this bacteria stuff they said to add to water. Goldfish were Greta for first 3 days come home from work today and they are lying on bottom not moving much. I did water change and one of the 2 has moved off bottom and is hanging around top of water but the other didnt seem to respond. What did I do wrong and is there anything j can do to turn this around or differently going forward should I lose both. Every once and a while you need to trust someone. For those that suffer from depression and anxiety this is an almost impossible ask. You don't want to feel like a burden. Tonight was the first timenive done that in a long time. She showed up without a question. I had no right to expect her to drop everything and just love me without expectations. But she she did. Thank you. You know who you are. It's not how big the filter. As it is how much food you feed. If the bio load is the same a 1 fish or 20 fish the water quality and amount of bacteria will be the same. Is it a reptile tank or a fish tank he was using for reptiles? I've always heard you shouldn't use reptile tanks for fish because they aren't always seald as well and the glass isn't prepared to hold water. I not sure if it's true. I use fish tank for reptiles all the time, but I've never gone the other way around.
