Chinook Salmon trip with friends at Duncanby lodge , rivers inlet british columbia Canada .

While this is not motorcycle related i wanted to share this experience that i had last week with my friends Turk , Joe and Craig at Duncanby Lodge in rivers inlet British Columbia Canada. Doing a video wasn't in the plan but once there i wanted to share this incredible place. The Keay family own, operate , work and host at the lodge. It truly is a family affair. There is a lot that can be said about Duncanby and its hosts, but the thing they are most proud of is their mindset in releasing the TYEE Salmon , which are all over 30 pounds. These are the breeders and year after year the guests have all understood the mindset and released over a 100 tyees . The Keays and Duncanby also raise money and are heavily involved with the hatchery at the head of the river. They collect the eggs and sperm of mature tyee salmon and incubate and raise the salmons and release them back into the same river system. With this commitment and partnership with the first nation community that house the Percy Walkus Hatchery the salmon in the area are increasing in numbers. This is only 1 of 2 river system on the west coast that the salmon numbers are increasing rather than decreasing. Check out the Duncanby website for more info.
