This is a lawn renovation where the soil is extremely stony. I found hundreds of stones some of which were the size of my hand! The customer wasn't after a bowling green, just to get some new grass growing where it was patchy (after he had a new fence installed), so I agreed to take on the job. I Also made him very aware that it could do with a few bags of topsoil for the various dips and shallow soil but he was fine. So the process included removal of stones, a LOT of hand scarifying, especially around the many large roots above the ground. Only after all of that could my normal renovation procedure begin!
