Amazing behind the scenes interview with the team that created the 2020 Specialized Roubaix. The all new Roubaix boasts aero to equal the Tarmac, Venge geometry, 33mm tyre clearance and an updated future shock 2.0 with on the move adjustable hydraulic dampening, 20mm travel and progressive bump stops to smooth out those big impacts. If you take a deeper look you notice the sleeker rubber boot for the future shock, beautifully integrated Di2 control on the down tube, sexier looking Pavé aero seat post with integrated seat post clamp and the fact that it's now a threaded bottom bracket across the whole range. The upgraded suspension has allowed Specialized to run a stiffer frame and all the aero upgrades have created a bike that looks much sexier and instantly dates the old Roubaix model. Specialized have announced that with the Ruby will no longer be needed with the Roubaix now offering sizes all the way from 44cm up to 64cm on request and the Diverge having you covered if you want something with a more upright relaxed geometry. During the interview the guys at Specialized talk about the concept behind the Roubaix and how smoothness is faster. Using Formula 1 cars as an analogy they explain how suspension creates increased traction and this creates increased confidence and cornering ability which all leads to increased speed.
