St Cuthbert's Way (4k) Step by Step - Part 5 - Maxton to Woodside (Dere Street)

This series of video's records the full route of St Cuthbert's Way on foot, step by step. St Cuthbert's Way is a 62.5 mile (100km) walking trail that crosses the border from Scotland to England, from Melrose to Lindisfarne (Holy Island). The recordings are a record of my journey, reference for others, and a visual trip for those who can't make it. The walk is split into 24 different parts as listed below: Part 1 - Melrose to Broad Wood Part 2 - Broad Wood to Newtown St Boswells Part 3 - Newtown St Boswells to Mertoun Bridge Part 4 - Mertoun Bridge to Maxton Part 5 - Maxton to Woodside (Dere Street) Part 6 - Woodside (Dere Street) to Monteviot House Part 7 - Monteviot House to Chestercleugh Plantation Part 8 - Chestercleugh Plantation to Brownrigg Part 9 - Brownrigg to Cessford Moor Part 10 - Cessford Moor to Morebattle Part 11 - Morebattle to Wideopen Hill Part 12 - Wideopen Hill to Primsidehill / Kirk Yetholm Part 13 - Primsidehill / Kirk Yetholm to Halterburn Part 14 - Halterburn to Elsdonburn Part 15 - Elsdonburn to Hethpool Part 16 - Hethpool to Yeavering Bell Part 17 - Yeavering Bell to Gains Law Part 18 - Gains Law to Wooler Part 19 - Wooler to Weetwood Moor Part 20 - Weetwood Moor to East Horton Part 21 - East Horton to St Cuthbert's Cave Part 22 - St Cuthbert's Cave to Buckton Moor (Fenwick) Part 23 - Buckton Moor (Fenwick) to Holy Island Causeway Part 24 - Holy Island Causeway to Holy Island Church The walk was completed in June 2024 over a four day period or rare, gloriously hot weather. It's quite surprising how few people I actually met along the way! Overnight stops were made at Jedburgh, Kirk Yetholm and Wooler. A special thanks must be made to the support team! Apologies for any naughty words, or complaints about knees that may crop up. It's a long way.... Any sections containing no sound is to blank out any conversations, etc. Enjoy the journey!
