I want to go where I can fish hard and take advantage of every minute of everyday. I also want to go where I'll have the opportunity to catch as many of the different salt water species as I can. Oh, and having awesome accommodations, food, and killer guides helps too. That's why I choose to fish at Turneffe Flats in Belize. Turneffe Flats is located on Turneffe Atoll, which is about 25 miles offshore from Belize City. This place is 100% off grid and is located in one of the most remote areas in the world. Turneffe Atoll is one of the most biologically diverse atolls in the Caribbean, which means that it's home to all of the major salt water game fish. On any given day, at any given stop, you have the opportunity to encounter Tarpon, Permit, Bonefish, Snook, Barracuda and Jacks. Some of the flats are miles and miles long, and most often there isn't another boat in sight. How often do you have the opportunity to land a saltwater grand slam in a single day? Here it's possible, and I've done it.
