Safe for me to say this is probably all bad information. But both @MidwestDeplorables & I am alive to write about it. Do with that what you will! Personally, I find that rope jockeys are almost as bad as medics when it comes to gatekeeping cool shit. The rope boys nerf training with layer after later of redundant safety system, and you end up with something that isn't realistic or fun. The best rope knowledge /experience I received was working high-rise window cleaning. Deadlines combined with lack supervision lead to some "interesting systems". Most of what we did would never fly in a real ropes class, where professional instructors have to maintain insurance. I get it. So go buy you a rope, and find a hill.
