In this episode, we dive headfirst into the fish market frenzy of Catania, explore the gorgeous cathedral and venture a little outside the city to visit the majestic lava coastline and the special towns of Aci Castello and Aci Trezza! We eat the famous Catania dish of Pasta alla Norma under the colorful umbrellas and find a stunning 360-degree panoramic view of the city and Mount Etna! Catania is the second-largest Sicilian city after Palermo. It was destroyed to the ground seven times by volcanic eruptions and earthquakes from Mount Etna. The most recent catastrophic events in 1169 and 1693 forced the inhabitants to rebuild the city from scratch.
