Warners. Thoresby Hall

Stayed at Thoresby Hall for our honeymoon, not quite the Seychelles but second time for us both so anywhere was fine and we liked our first stay with Warners in March this year. The staff are excellent and if you stay there try and get Sandra to be your waitress in the restaurant, she was brilliant as I expect the rest were too but she just stood out to us. Only one down side to our stay, I was disappointed as no senior Manager would see me face to face so I could get authorisation to do some drone footage as I did at Nidd Hall, they just sent second hand messages to say no but no reason given. Would have really completed this video of our stay there if we had been allowed to show just how spectacular the building is. People jump to too many conclusions about drones without knowing the different classes etc, mine is a sub 250gram DJI and I have an operator ID and public liability insurance to £5million.There is no FRZ or any other restrictions for the area so I could have just done it without asking but I think that is the wrong way to do it, after asking respectfully for permission I wished I had! At least the girl on reception told me she viewed my Nidd video (and liked it), but could not authorise me to use my drone. It was a festival weekend and lots of different acts were on stage, the comedian was John Martin and was hilarious, he used to be Ken Dodd's writer. The tribute bands were very entertaining and got the audience going, shame the room wasn't as full as it could have been but I think everyone enjoyed it. And the Cream of Clapton guitar player/lead singer was spot on as were his band. Thoresby Hall. A 150-year-old Nottinghamshire country house which is now a hotel has had a varied history, including serving as a training base in the Second World War and being owned by the National Coal Board. Although a grand house has stood on the grounds since 1670, the current Thoresby Hall structure in Budby, near Ollerton, owes its architecture to Anthony Salvin in 1871.
