The BEST Lake Mead Campground & Camp Cooking FAIL

This week we hit the road to check out a new area of Lake Mead that I’ve never been before - Template Bar Marina! This hidden gem isn’t talked about much, so I wanted to check it out myself. There isn’t any dispersed camping directly in the marina so I ended up reserving a spot at Temple Bar Marina Campground. There are 71 spots available at this campground (its huge) HOWEVER there are only 2 spots (spots #1 and #2) that are First come first serve so the REST of the 69 spots available are all Reservation ONLY. There is no Signal out here so be sure to reserve your spot PRIOR to making the drive! The camp host was adamant that you MUST make reservations (even if the campground is empty) so be sure to do this before planning your trip. This campground is one of the greenest/lushest campgrounds I’ve ever seen within a 1 hour drive from Las Vegas. Each spot is pretty well spaced out and surrounded by brush/trees which makes each spot feel a bit more private considering your in a campground. Each campsite includes a table, fire pit and flat/level parking spot which is perfect for trailers, RVs, vans and truck campers. The campground also has water spigots, RV dump stations and bathrooms.
