This is my way to assemble the Game Gear replacement motherboard, the following will be covered: 00:00 Introduction 00:37 Removal of LED and crystal 01:15 Removal of eyelets 01:52 Removal connectors 03:21 Removal of ASIC 04:42 Clean up ASIC pins 05:25 Straighten ASIC pins 07:01 Aligning the ASIC to the new board 09:03 Drag soldering the ASIC 11:13 Mounting the other parts 16:16 Mounting a BennVenn IPS LCD kit 18:45 Shell assembly and finishing up Equipment used: Weller WMD-3: Weller WSP80 soldering iron with LT-K 1.2mm chisel tip Weller WSP80 soldering iron with LT-M 3.2mm chisel tip Weller DSX80 desoldering iron with DX116 1.2mm x 2.7mm nozzle Weller WHA900 with NQ40 nozzle Dremel with 3mm drill Wiha PicoFinish 260P 1.0mm (excellent for pin straitening!)
