June 2 1996 Phil Jackson joins the halftime set of Bob Costas, Dr. J and Peter Vecsey to discuss various topics across the NBA. Jackson speaks on 7 different subjects in this 5 and a half minute interview. The pros and cons having lots of days off in the playoffs, if the 95-96 Bulls are a perfect team, assistant Jim Cleamons getting permission to interview for head coaching jobs, Jackson's contract expiring and the coaching market increasing, if he has his eyes on the Nets President/Coach position, potential ongoing negotiations with Jerry Reinsdorf, and what Bulls practices look like in preparation for the Jazz or Sonics. Jim Cleamons would be hired by the Dallas Mavericks but fired after going 28-70. Jackson would re-sign with the Bulls but not for long-term. The Nets hired former UMass coach John Calipari as President/Gm. He lasted 3 years, had one over .500 team, but ended up with a 72-112 record. The Bulls would face the Sonics and beat them in 6 games.
