Only Uploads From Original CD's & Vinyl in HQ ! Donald "Duck" Bailey (cousin to Victor Bailey) full name Donald Orlando Bailey, born 26 March 1933 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA, was an excelent American jazz drummer and harmonica player. Bailey is best known for drumming with Jimmy Smith's trio from 1956 to 1964. Has also worked with the Three Sounds, Sarah Vaughan, Carmen McRae, Hampton Hawes, Sonny Rollins, Freddie Hubbard, Red Mitchell, John Coltrane and many more. Bailey moved to Japan in the mid-1970's, he lived there for six years and with the help of Hideo Ichikawa, Hideyuki Kikuchi, Yoshio Ikeda, Takaaki Nishikawa and Toshihiko Ogawa recorded the EXCELENT album "So in Love" (released on Trio Records 1980), on which Bailey also plays harmonica. Bailey returned to the US and settled down in Oakland, California, 1982. He continued to perform there until his health forced him to quit. Bailey passed away 15 October 2013. I have not seen the album "So In Love" on YouTube before so here is a track from that excelent album - which to date have not been reissued to CD). I have done my best to restore the vinyl for your pleasure.
