How to Straddle Planche tutorial! (All the best progressions)

In this video, I go through all of the best progressions I used to unlock my straddle planche. As I explain in the video, there are a few guidelines for practising this gymnastic strength skill. First, if you are new to this movement, accept that it will take many months for your wrists and elbows to adapt to the loads placed on them from the hold. Choose progressions that are 2 levels below your best for majority of your working sets. Always warm up the wrists and shoulders before each session (I show my favourite drills for this in the video). To learn the straddle planche, I practised twice a week. I would typically train 4 to 5 working sets of each progression I was working on at the time, and every two weeks I would try to increase my hold times. I generally found once I could perform a lean or a tuck hold for more than 10 seconds, I could start to unlock the next hardest progression and begin to add that into my program once I reached that level. My straddle planche is by no means perfect (it needs some flattening out), but for someone with no gymnastics experience, I was able to reach this level after 6 months of progressing through these drills. Once attained, you need to do far less to maintain the skill. In terms of more in depth resources, I found Gymnastic Bodies to have super detailed programs (almost too detailed for my liking), but if you want to explore this skill in far greater technical depth then I recommend checking their programs out here:- https://www.gymnasticbodies.com/ Another excellent resource that has inspired me greatly is Tom from Bodyweight Warriors who has fantastic videos on planche training as well as callisthenics & handbalancing. Check him out here:- https://www.bodyweightwarrior.co.uk/ Stay safe and if you have any questions, please drop me a comment and I will do my best to answer you.
