Feng Mao Lamb Kebab There are a few Chinese restaurants scattered throughout Los Angeles' Ktown and Feng Mao is one of the stand-outs. Their speciality is kebab, specifically lamb that has been marinated in a cumin mix. This style of cumin lamb kebab originated in the XinJiang province of China and is a popular street food in Beijing, TianJin and JiLin. Feng Mao's menu is extensive with over 30 types of kebabs, Chinese dishes and a few Korean dishes. We always order the lamb (each order is 10 skewers) and the sautéed on choy (water spinach) because green stuff makes me feel better about devouring so much grilled meat. This time, since we were with a larger group, we also ordered a few beef, pork and chicken kebabs, scallion pancake and sweet and sour pork. I could have done without the chicken kebabs, the texture was...different. Oh, the staff is trilingual which gives me an opportunity to practice my Chinese.
