Robocut Trail Clearing - Pitfichie Devil's Staircase

Robocut reaches the summit! ⚒⚔️⚒ Earlier in March (2020) - amongst all the other great things going on- the ATA @dmbins collaboration to begin tackling the encroaching vegetation on the Devil’s Staircase, Cairn William, Pitfichie finally hit he ground! This project has been a year in the planning. The ATA first recognised that poor sight lines were an increasing issue on this trail, and then race events highlighted that there were many pedal-catch stones nestled in that vegetation also. Bring on @future.forestry with their Robocut monster and this has made a serious dent in the workload!! Cairn William is one of the very few community asset trails in Aberdeenshire, so we value it highly. Hopefully this collaboration gives us a better footing to manage the vegetation, drainage, sight lines and trail tread in the future. ⚒💚⚒
