The top surface of the Sked stretcher allows for easy patient drag, especially in tight, confined spaces. The Sked Stretcher is available in two systems. The Sked Basic Rescue System is outfitted with steel buckles. The steel buckles require the weaving of the straps through the buckles for secure patient packaging. A more recent version of the Sked Basic Rescue System is outfitted with Cobra buckles which enable quicker patient packaging. For those who have the system with the original, steel buckles, Skedco now offers a complete conversion kit that includes six patented AustriAlpin Cobra™ quick release buckles. These lightweight aluminum side-release buckles are dependable and strong enough to meet the needs of securing a patient into a Sked® stretcher without the danger of breakage. The buckles are rated at 3,000 lbs. and are difficult to release while under tension. By using the Cobra buckle system, you will no longer have to weave the webbing through the buckles when packaging a patient, therefore patient packaging is often done in about half of the time as when using the original steel buckles.
