It is a natural wonder that has fascinated tourists, travelers and famous people for centuries. Leonardo Da Vinci also spoke of it in his Codex Atlanticus: "Nessus, a land where a river falls with a great rush, through a huge crack in the mountain". The watercourse Leonardo referred to originated from the confluence of two streams, Tuf and Nosè, which fall into the rocks, giving rise to a very fascinating waterfall. Equally impressive to admire is the gorge formed by the action of water, a small, narrow and deep canyon. The visit starts directly from the provincial road: just a stone's throw from the road is the viewpoint that allows you to observe the ravine from above. Crossing the provincial road it is enough to take the cobbled road downhill to enter a maze of alleys and infinite steps that lead us to the lake. A wonderful little square welcomes us, but the strong point is on our left: passing under a portico we arrive at Ponte della Civera, one of the most popular and photographed places by tourists on the lake. Looking up, the ravine and its waterfalls reappear. To return to street level, we recommend "getting lost" in the alleys: it's really worth it.
