[ EDIT: The guitar has been sold! But thanks for watching! ] The Hofner 176 Brokat features a gold/red vinyl coating, giving a pure vintage look-and-feel! This top of range model from Hofner also features a red tortoise pickguard with beautiful matching headstock, 3 humbucker pickups, red/white celluloid fretboard inlays and many switches for great tone flexibility. This version was built between 1964 and 1971, and these instruments can be dated according to the reference stamped on the volume pots. This model is from 1966. Frets are in pretty good shape. The truss-rod works fine and the neck and bridge are set with low action, 9-46 strings, no buzz, ready to play. The neck and bridge pickups have been re-wired as original by the Höfner experts from Musikkeller in Dorsten, Germany. Note that the vinyl coating and binding show some wear, like all the Brokat's from this period, and have been fixed at some spots, but detailed pictures can be seen on Reverb.com. The overall condition is really good and the neck is amazing. The rear cavity cover is not original but has been hand-made to match exactly. All other parts are original.
