Welcome back to our off grid wilderness garden and potato planting season! In this video we get to the first part of planting potatoes..in that we retrieve previously stored potatoes in our garbage can root cellar! We have been using our garbage can root cellar for 4 years now and during that time we have not had to buy any potatoes ( after initially buying the potatoes that is! ). We have been in a cycle of retrieving; sorting; planting; nurturing; harvesting and storing. With a crop yield of 4 to 5 times the originally planted potatoes we are able to eat potatoes all fall and winter! Delicious, cost effective and a good source of food all winter!
