We'll show you all six hotels, starting at Plaza Mexicana, moving through the elegant lobbies, and exploring the beautiful beach and pool areas. Our Impressions of the Six Hotels: - Central Location: Caribe and Colonial - Best Beach Area: Riviera - Best Theme Restaurants: Colonial and Tropical - Best Pool Area: Riviera and Palace - Best Surroundings: Tropical No matter which hotel you stay in, you can explore the entire resort. However, staying at Palace or Riviera gives you access to more exclusive restaurants within the all-inclusive package. For couples who can't decide between Caribe, Colonial, Beach, or Tropical, we have a special tip: On our next visit, we would choose to stay at the Barceló Maya Beach Hotel near the El Cielito Pool (59:15) and Bar on the ground floor. This area is perfect for swimming at night and has a really cool vibe. Plus, Beach is close to the best beach section in the entire resort.
