Whilst digging through my old CD singles the other week I discovered this classic from 1994, and thought I'd have a crack at remixing it. I gave it some serious retro 80s influence all over the production, especially with the VST synths such as the Korg M1 / Polysix & DX7 and the vintage compressors such as the DBX160 and SSL bus compressors - not to mention a nice dollop of tape saturation for that freshly cooked feel. The piano is actually a vst blended with a sample pack of the Bluthner 9' Concert Grand from Skywalker Ranch - a piano used in countless Hollywood movies as with such an iconic riff I wanted an equally iconic sound! Nothing even comes close to Way out West's 1996 mix of this track, it'll always be the best version for me, but I hope you enjoy my take as much as I enjoyed making it!
