IS800:2007 is the Indian standard code of practice for design of steel members using limit state method. It is a large code and the most problematic area of this code is several sections and design clauses are not properly clarified. In this session, I have discussed on the basic design considerations and pre-requisites of design using IS800 code in STAAD. I have also discussed about the stability analysis and how to finalize the analysis method from the outcome of stability analysis.
