#hemkundsahib #valleyofflowers #badrinath Hi, This video is the 4th Episode of the 7 days long trip that I went on with my Hostel Friends. This video has fun, and memories of Day 4. This video has the complete journey of Ghangaria to Hemkund. Hemkund is located at an elevation of 4,633m. It is surrounded by 7 mountain peaks and has a glacial lake. Lakshman Mandir or Lokpal Mandir at the Banks of Lake Hemkund is said to be built on the same place where Lakshman from Hindu epic Ramayana meditated to regain powers after killing Meghnad. Gurdwara Hemkund Sahib is a Sikh piligrimage site devoted to Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the tenth Sikh Guru. He spent 10 years in meditation here Ghangaria is located at an elevation of 3049m. The 6 km stretch from Ghangaria to Hemkund is very steep all through out. You will be covering a elevation of around 1.58 Km(1584m) in just 6 Kms trek. You can get Mules from Ghangaria but I would recommend the on foot journey. Tips: 1. The rates of every items are almost double. 2. Don't forget to pack your raincoats with you. It can rain anytime. 3. Just carry the necessary items. 4. Police won't allow you to pass the bridge near Ghangaria after 10 AM as you will not be able to reach Hemkund before 2PM. The Gurdwara closes at 2PM. 5. If you are planning to cover Valley of Flowers and Hemkund both. Go to Valley of Flowers first and then to Hemkund. If you plan otherwise you would definitely drop the plan for Valley of Flowers due to fatigue and muscle pain and it is something you would regret. Stay tuned for next episode on Valley of Flowers.
