The original logo for this truck, two stripes arranged loosely like a lightning symbol in the form of a horizontally stretched letter "Z", still appears in the current Opel logo. ----------------------------------- The Ford V 3000 S, B 3000 S and V 3000 A trucks were built from 1941 by Ford-Werke AG at the Cologne-Niehl plant. They were based on Ford type T 098/099 with V8 engine ( displacement 239 cubic inches / 3.9 liters, power 95 hp), presented by the Ford- mother group in Detroit (USA) in 1940. In the USA and Canada from 1941, Ford also built the Ford Six and Eight series, which was also available as a van version, with a lower payload. Even after Germany's declaration of war to the United States in December 1941, Ford Germany continued production unchanged, but in 1942 the parallel-built Ford 77-81 (" Barrel Nose Truck ") was discontinued due to a lack of parts delivery from the USA. For the use in the wehrmacht , the trucks were delivered with various superstructures and set-up sets. The basic model was the V 3000 S (standard with 3.9-liter V8, rear-wheel drive ), later supplemented by the V 3000 A (all- wheel drive ) and the smaller B 3000 S with 3.3-liter four-cylinder engine and 52 hp. In the Commonwealth countries of Canada, Australia and the UK (WOC1 Light Truck), there were even 3-axle 6x4 and 6x6 types with all-wheel drive from Marmon-Herrington , a different front windscreen and partly integrated into the fender's integrated headlights. Thus, the situation was that the Ford trucks as "prey vehicles" were used by the Allies as well as by the Wehrmacht and could also be supplied by suitable spare parts.
