Are you ready to learn? I’m Sarah, and today, we’re going to talk about animals, today, we’re going to learn about some incredible things animals can do! Did you know that the strongest animals are actually the smallest? Look at this ant. A common ant is able to lift 20 times its own weight! For example, I weigh 50kg, and if I was an ant i would be able to lift 1000kg! But… don’t think that the common ant is the strongest animal in the world, no no. Goodbye little ant! The strongest is actually a rhinoceros beetle! Hello beetle! This animal can carry things that are 30 times their own weight and for more than an hour! Its as if I could lift 1500kg, which is the same as two cows! Now, we’re going to talk about the highest jumps! Bye little beetle! Do you know the animal that can jump the highest? Some of you, will think its the kangaroo, or a feline, like a leopard, that can reach more than 3m high when it’s jumping. But no! it’s none of these. It’s actually a flea! Fleas are able to jump distances equivalent to 150 times their size. So If i’m 1m 70, and I jumped like a flea, I would be able to jump 255m! I could jump over the statue of liberty! And lots of other buildings, without struggle. It really is incredible! Bye little flea! Giraffes are animals that have always caught my attention. Apart from being the tallest animals in the world, they don’t have vocal cords, they are mute! And did you know that they only sleep in blocks of 7 minutes!? I think it’s incredible, I think it’s… amazing! And to finish off, I want to talk to you about two of my favorite animals. Monkeys and dolphins! They are so intelligent, they can do incredible things! Dolphins, apart from communicating with each other through very elaborated sounds, they sleep with one eye open, so they can swim away if attacked by a shark! And some monkeys are able to use tools, to get food! And same as us, they kiss and hug each other! And they even laugh and clap when they really like something. The truth is, all animals are so incredible, and every single one of them is vital for nature’s balance. So, as I always say, we need to take care of them well and protect them.
