We got its lead from a gentleman whom we met on the train enroute to Jabalpur from Delhi. Here we met the owner who briefed us about this 23 year old place. They serve 7-12 dishes including dosa, vada and idli. The place is open from 7-12 in the morning and is always abuzz with locals preferring healthy and filling breakfast options. Here we had an all mix dosa which was stuffed with a mixture of veggies, paneer and chutney. It was zesty and tasty. The second stop was Dwarka Sweets on Old Bus stand Wright town. Their poha jalebi and Kachori are famous but we went for the former one as we wanted to have something light. Poha was lightly spiced and the jalebi was crisp and fresh with no food colours. Next we took an auto and reached Soni Jee Tea stall at Gwarighat to energize ourselves with a cup of strong chai. The best accompaniment was local ajwain cookies. Their taste is pretty unique and delicious. They seemed much better than the fancy ones. Then we visited the Gwarighat bank of River Narmada for a boat ride to narmada mata temple and gurdwara gwarighatis sahib. Gwarighati considered as one of the most beautiful and sacred ghats on the mighty Narmada river in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. The Narmada devi temple is located in the middle of the river and can be reached by boats. A boat ride in the Narmada will give you a serene feeling. A boat ride in the Narmada will give you a serene feeling. Our boatman Manish was a shy and genial guy who told us about the place. The all white It was an all-white spik and span gurudwara looked really impressive. Next we reached Kamaniya gate to continue our food tour with Shubhi. First we went to a perfume seller who has been in the business for 5 generations. After getting some white musk perfume we went to a laiya cart near badkul sweets. The amaranth seed laiya looked really tempting so after a quick chat with the young owner we tried some of it. The next stop was Thakur Chaat bhandar at Fuhara Market. The swarm of people surrounding this busy stall were happily munching away papdi chaat, fulki and dahi puri. With great pride and warmth and a big smile on his face, Thakur ji made us try them all. And what amazing taste bombs all of them were. Next stop was Deva Mangodi Wale. He is a star vendor who is known for dipping his bare hands into hot oil while frying the tiny moong dal mangodi. It was a scary yet fascinating and incredible sight to behold. The mangodi were fresh and spicy. The last stop for the day was a busy smaosa stall that dates back to 1947. The samosa were light and crisp and we had it right out of hot oil. Two young fellow were managing this busy stall with all enthusiasm.
