While we were actually kind of TRYING to target Red Drum, we missed out on that action by one night. Luckily, there were some Bluefish still hanging around and they had no discrimination about our cut bait and provided us with a decent mess of fish for dinner. We were very close to a 4 person limit (3 a day per person in NC) and it was tremendous fun getting some decent fish on Surf City Pier. This was actually the first time I've ever fished on Surf City Fishing Pier and while I still hold a fondness for SeaView Pier in North Topsail, I will definitely be back to Surf City again.
