Making Spring electric Guitar/Bass set - Full build

Next project in the four season series. Spring is almost over but I managed to get this project done with a few days to spare ;) My bro an I spent hours and hours trying to figure out which symbol represents spring the best, flowers, bees and we finally agreed on two swallows, one on each fret board. Special thanks to Damir lesic who free handed a couple of swallow drawings from which we chose the one for the guitar , also thanks to Ante Brizić and Krešimir Klen-Fish for the final Guitar test! :) Guitars are designed as a neck trough. Blocks were glued two months ago and then let to rest to minimize any kind of warping after the guitars are complete. The wood used was white maple and 1.5mm mahogany veneer. After resting, surfaces were flattened and planed down to thickness of 38 mm. This time the fronts were milled first with all the holes and grooves for truss-rods, pickups and bridges. I used 4 flutes 12 mm ball end bit for finishing and 3 flutes 4 mm flat end bit for the grooves. For the other side I used 20mm flat end for roughing and again 12 mm ball end for finishing. For the fret grooves on the fret board I used 0.6mm flat end bit which is so tiny I really couldn't see for sure how many flutes it had :D. The swallow was milled using 1mm three flutes flat end bit. The swallow groove is then filled with epoxy with some mahogany dust to achieve a red color. Truss rod is made from two 4 mm cold rolled steel rods and smooth elongated nuts as shown in the video. The nuts that will be used to tighten the truss rod are drilled and then protected by hot bluing method, a specialty of my friend Goran Milardović. After bluing they are welded to the rod and placed beneath the fret board. Two 1 mm pins are hammered trough the fret grooves to keep the fret board in place while gluing, they are removed afterwards. After drying, heads are sanded down to 14 mm thickness and holes are drilled for the tuning pegs. Guitars are then sanded with 400 grit sandpaper and 7 coats of oil is applied. Before applying the oil based varnish, frets are pressed and flattened. The holes for the pickups and electronics are sprayed with black graphite paint and grounded to minimize the interference. Guitar were then sprayed in 4 coats of oil based gloss finish with sanding in between each coat. After the final coat, the guitars are assembled and the bone nus are sanded down and adjusted. For bass we used EMG JX set and Fishman Fluence Classic humbucker set for the guitar. Bridges and tuning pegs are from Schaller. I really hope you enjoyed the video.
