Solo Flawless Root of Nightmares Raid | Episode: Echoes Act 3 (Destiny 2)

I can hardly believe it even though I'm looking at it... first things first shoutout to the GOAT Max Facts for making this killer thumbnail, you're the best. I took about 2 weeks or so to work on this. Streamed a whole bunch, learned a whole bunch more, optimized, made mistakes, and did the first 2 encounters a whole lot more than I would have liked. But I'm so glad I pushed through to the end. Now the full story. Originally when this raid came out, I was quite disappointed when we breezed through it on Day One within about 7 hours (which to be honest, could have been even shorter!). And mechanically this was so simple that people were doing solos of the first 2 encounters on contest, solo Nezarec mechanics... the list just goes on. I always wanted to use this raid as an opportunity to do more lowman challenge types of stuff. Hence my first encounter solo and Nezarec duo videos from last year. But at the time when I took my lengthy break from the game, I wasn't quite up to the challenge of a full raid solo, let alone solo flawless. When I came back though, I felt a very renewed sense of interest for challenge content, hence the duo flawless clear I ran with ‪@Inkdaditum‬ , which I was and still am pretty proud of. But I still felt like I wanted to at least solo Nezarec... and then came ‪@aimxri‬ . The Whisper clear that started it all. I already said it, but aimxri's Whisper clear sparked something in me and I wanted to try and replicate it since it looked a lot more compatible with me than the bizarre flower strategy I could never wrap my head around. I had planned on doing just Nezarec solo and finally laying this raid to rest since I got a duo flawless clear already, something I hadn't done in any raid period. But what if I could solo Explicator? If I could just beat that encounter, then maybe I had a real chance at solo flawless. The pinnacle achievement. And here I have to shout out ‪@milito06‬ , for having such a strong understanding of the encounter that just from video clears alone I was able to pick up the solo myself, to a pretty strong level I think. Thus the final obstacle seemingly fell, and I just needed a run. Oh how elusive "that run" can be. Between my own stumbling and this raid's subpar functionality, I was left to fail again, and again, and again. I apologize for abruptly stopping the Twitch streams, but I truly was finding myself at a point where I couldn't mentally handle streaming losing runs anymore. I apologize for my rants, my malds, and any way I behaved that may have been upsetting. I would like to carry a more positive attitude for this kind of thing moving forward, so I sincerely hope I didn't upset anyone who came by to watch. That all being said, the support you all gave me while streaming is something I still am in awe of. Every follow, every sub, every chat message meant something to me, whether it was from the incredibly big names who came by, or from my own personal friends and clanmates. I love you all so much, really, and you all have my utmost thanks for coming to cheer me on and believing in me throughout. My final shoutouts go to everyone who was there for the final clear. To ‪@onahandstand‬ for being a wonderful coach for duo master ron (which I do think gave me a deeper understanding into how I could improve even in the normal raid), ‪@henry29458‬ for being a remarkable figure in the lowman community and a huge supporter for anything lowman related I've tried, and Ink and Un-tizio-casuale.
