I share these books because these books had an emotional impact on me. At one point in my career, I worked for Kodak Professional. I was living in Los Angeles but several times a year I would venture east to Rochester while serving time in meetings, gatherings, and the like. Sometimes mid-winter other times mid-summer. Kodak was in the midst of complete turmoil. In four years I survived five major layoffs. But Kodak has a dear hold on my heart. And if you are a photographer you should have this same feeling because none of us would be where we are without the contributions of this legendary company. Catherine Leutenegger had feelings about Kodak as well. She used these feelings to document the city of Rochester in her wonderful book "Kodak City." I love this book. This book has both historical relevances and Rust Belt feel not to mention a host of essays written by those with insight and context. A beautiful set of materials matched with solid copy and cohesive photographs. https://cleutenegger.com/projects https://cleutenegger.com/books
