It's the first part of a three part series about our two week hike from Pokhara to the Kali Ghandaki valley, below the Annapurna Himal. From the tiny hamlet of Kande we set off to a two week trek around the southern slopes of Annapurna Himal, one of the most famous and most beautiful mountain ranges in the world. During the first three days of our hike we will constantly climb up a single long ridge, closer and closer towards iconic Machhapuchhre, the fishtail mountain. We pass Australian Camp, Pothana, Pitam Deurali and overnight at Forest Camp along the way. On day two we reach Mardi High Camp, making the final push to Mardi Himal View Point on our third day. There we have a wonderful panoramic view on Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Gangapurna, Annapurna III and Machhapuchhre. South of us we can see far across Nepal's middle hills and over the Ganges Plains. The Mardi Himal Trek is one of the easiest Treks in Nepal crossing an altitude of 4000 meters and also one of the shortest treks to take you deep into the Himalayas and right into the middle of several 7000ers.
